The collection of the Lititz Congregation in Pennsylvania, approximately 1,400 titles composed between 1779 and 1911, is now available to scholars for the first time. Although a relatively small religious community, the American Moravians used vocal music with accompaniment in their church services, and the music they wrote or performed was the finest in America during the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. This collection includes many holographs and unique compositions.
