About the Author

Enoch Lawrence Lee, Jr., (1912-1996) earned a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He taught at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., from 1956 to 1977. In addition to Indian Wars in North Carolina, Dr. Lee authored the canonical The Lower Cape Fear in Colonial Days and histories of both New Hanover and Brunswick counties in North Carolina.
