Meticulous records kept by the Moravians who settled in Piedmont North Carolina. The decade of records presented in volume XII includes significant texts not in the earlier volume XI of the series that covers these dates.

About the Authors

C. Daniel Crews is a native of Winston-Salem, N.C., and graduate of High Point College. He earned bachelor of divinity and master of divinity degrees from Moravian Theological Seminary, a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in British literature, and a Ph.D .from the University of Manchester in theology. An ordained minister of the Moravian Church, he has served pastorates in North Carolina, England, and the Virgin Islands. Since 1991, he has been archivist of the Moravian Church, Southern Province, and with the aid of a devoted staff, he has published numerous booklets and articles on Moravian Church history and theology.

Lisa Bailey is a native of Raleigh, N.C. She received her B.A. degree in English from Meredith College and was an editor with the Historical Publications Section of the Division of Archives and History until 2014. She has applied her editorial skills to many publications on North Carolina history and has published numerous book reviews in the North Carolina Historical Review.
