Appalachian State University reissued many of the works originally published by the Appalachian Consortium Press, a non-profit educational organization composed of institutions and agencies located in Southern Appalachia. The Appalachian Consortium Press was the first publisher devoted solely to the region and many of the works it published remain seminal in the field to this day.
