
The mission of the North Carolina Office of Archives and History is to collect, preserve, and utilize the state’s historic resources so that North Carolinians may better understand their history. From popular books about the Wright Brothers, legends, lighthouses, pirates, and the Civil War to resources for historical and genealogical researchers, its Historical Publications program offers more than 160 titles that reflect the rich variety of Tar Heel history.
