Q: How can I find out more about a book?

If you know the name of the author and/or the book’s title (or even part of the title) we suggest you start with a search in the search box at the top right of every page on our site. Make sure the “Books” bubble is filled in next to the search bar in order to search our book records.

Clicking on the title of a book will take you to that book’s Product Page. There you will find the jacket, reviews, author bios, as well as book descriptions and bibliographic data. When available, there will also be access to view a sample from the book, related links, and other enhanced pages about the book.

Clicking on an author’s name will take you to that person’s Author Page. There you will find the author bio; links to their website, blog, and/or social media accounts; links to all books they have published with UNC Press; and information on any upcoming author events.

Q: I am a book reviewer. How can I get a book to review?

Copies of our publications are available to the media for review or other news coverage. For more information, visit our Publicity Contacts page.

Q: I am an educator, and I would like to consider a title for use in a class I teach. What do I do?

If you would like to consider a book for course adoption, you can find all the information you need about our Examination and Desk copy policies, by visiting our Resources for Educators page.

Q: How can I place an order from UNC Press?

Orders are accepted by phone or fax, or online with your credit card via our secure online ordering system. Please visit our How to Order page for more.

Q: How do I submit a manuscript for consideration?

Our acquisitions editors welcome submissions of manuscripts to UNC Press. Guidelines for submitting a manuscript proposal are available online, including a list of editors and a description of what is to be included in the submission packet. Please send your submission to the editor most appropriate for the subject of your work. For more information, visit our Editorial Department page.

Q: How can I contact an author?

We would be happy to forward your correspondence, email or otherwise, to an author but, as a policy, UNC Press does not distribute authors’ addresses or phone numbers. Queries about authors from the media can be emailed directly to our publicity department.

Q: What is Longleaf Services?

Longleaf Services, an affiliate of UNC Press, was formed to provide cost-effective services for not-for-profit publishers. For more information about Longleaf, including complete contact information, ordering procedures, and how to become a Longleaf client, visit www.longleafservices.org.
