UNC Press Enduring Editions

Learn more about Enduring Editions, the program that brings distinguished out-of-print UNC Press titles back to life.

UNC Press E-books

Learn more about UNC Press titles available in the many e-book formats.

Note: If you check WorldCat and find that your e-book is available in hundreds of libraries, please be aware that the purchase of a single copy by a consortia will be reflected by all of its member libraries, and in addition, libraries may indicate access to a book not yet purchased but available for purchase through special programs.

It may become possible to take advantage of e-book opportunities for older, out-of-print titles, as well as our more recent publications. To see if your book is available right now as an e-book, please check our website.

Whenever we have reasonably current contact information, the Press has attempted to reach authors of out-of-print titles in order to inform them of new programs and to update their original publishing agreements, where appropriate.

Change of Address Form

Safeguarding PDF—UNC Press Policy

Our manuscript editorial staff may release a PDF of uncorrected page proof to you for review. This PDF will be watermarked and is not for further distribution of any kind, including to your colleagues or media contacts. It is solely for your use in proofreading and/or indexing prior to final printing of the book.

Also, we regret that we cannot send you the final PDF of your book. For some time now, the policy of the Press has been not to share the final PDF—which is an exact replica of the book as it was typeset and published—outside of our established distribution channels. As you may know, and as we know from hard experience, online piracy of published works is rampant, and we have had to take a number of steps to ensure that your work appears only in legitimate venues that are approved by the Press.

If you should need access to a portion of the final PDF for use in book-related appearances or to accommodate excerpt requests, please forward your request to our publicity staff with as complete an explanation as possible. Thank you.
