UNC Press Authors Fund

The University of North Carolina Press established the UNC Press Authors Fund in 2013 to support the work of younger scholars and the work of those in emerging fields of study. Since then, over 440 authors and heirs have donated their royalties and made separate gifts to the UNC Press Authors Fund, supporting the first books of 72 young scholars.  The Authors Fund underwrites the production costs of these emerging scholars’ monographs, helping the Press keep the price as affordable as possible. We are exceedingly grateful, and the authors whose books are supported are grateful as well. Zandria Robinson, author of This Ain’t Chicago, enthusiastically wrote, “I was absolutely elated [to be] one of the inaugural recipients of support from the Authors Fund…Please share my gratitude with the dozens of authors whose generosity has made this fund possible.”
