Permission to Photocopy 

If you are requesting permission to photocopy material for classroom use, contact the Copyright Clearance Center. 

If the Copyright Clearance Center cannot grant permission, email [email protected]. 

Provide the following information: 

  • Author 
  • Title of book or journal (specify issue) 
  • School and professor requesting material to be copied 
  • Page numbers and page count 
  • Approximate number of copies needed 

Permission for E-Reserve and Online Course Use 

Scanning copyrighted material on e-reserves and on course websites, such as those hosted by Sakai or Web CT, or those offered by faculty, requires permission of the copyright holder. 

Please seek permission via the course builder’s connection to the Copyright Clearance Center. 

Permission may also be obtained directly from the publisher; email [email protected]. 

Provide the following information: 

  • Author 
  • Title of book or journal (specify issue) 
  • Page numbers and page count 
  • Identify the school, course, and faculty member requesting material 
  • Approximate number of students enrolled in the class
