Ben C. Fisher, born May 27, 1915, received his B.A. from Wake Forest College and his Master of Divinity from Andover-Newton Theological School. He is the author of many scholarly articles and books championing the benefits of a Christian education and Christian Universities. He was a pastor and an educator. He taught at Wake Forest College, Gardner Webb College, and finally, Chowan College. He was an influential member of the Southern Baptist Convention for over forty years. He passed away on November 3, 1985.
