Michael Stein, M.D. is Professor and Chair of Health Law, Policy and Management of the School of Public Health at Boston University. He is a primary care doctor with research interests in HIV care, opioid addiction, behavior change, and health communication. He is the Executive Editor of the popular online forum, Public Health Post. The author of nine previous books, six novels and three works of non-fiction, his writings have been featured in the New York Times and the Best American Essays series, and on NPR's Fresh Air.
